There is more than meets the eye when it comes to working in construction. With over 180 job roles, from architects to quantity surveyors, engineers to bricklayers, demolition to landscaping, there really is a career for everyone. Regardless of whether you’re thinking of an apprenticeship, job, upskilling, training and qualifications, or even a complete change of career, we can find a role where you can thrive.
Our vision is simple – to increase the number of skilled local people entering the booming construction industry. Join us as A-Level and GCSE results are being revealed – Building Plymouth will be hosting a series of Open Events. We will be promoting apprenticeship opportunities and further and higher education courses, aimed at inspiring young people, their parents and family, as well as adults who are considering a career change into building their career within the construction and built environment sector. These events will take place on Thursday 16 August 2pm-4pm and Thursday 23 August 2pm-4pm, in the Astor Room of the Plymouth Guildhall.
Local training providers, the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) and employers will be showcasing their current vacancies across trade, technical and professional route ways into the construction and the built environment sector.
If you miss out on these events, Building Plymouth offers an impartial careers advice and guidance service through their Job Shop which opens every Wednesday and Friday morning, 10am to 12noon, in the Guildhall.
