Morven Maclean, Construction Coordinator working on behalf of the Building Plymouth partnership has made the final three short-list in consideration of the Employee of the Year Award as part of the prestigious West Country Women Awards 2023.

Now heading towards the Grand Final Awards ceremony, Morven said: “The opportunity to even be nominated for this award has just been so amazing, let alone to have got through to the finals. Thank you to Daffne Aguilar from Building Plymouth member Willmott Dixon for taking the time to nominate me. Working in the construction industry gives me the opportunity to work with inspirational women every day and my role allows me to showcase the fantastic opportunities that are available to anyone who wants to work in the industry and help them to achieve their goals. I am so honoured to be recognised.”

Taking place on 1 December, the Grand Final awards ceremony will celebrate the top achievements and triumphs of women across the region from all communities. These annual awards celebrate and recognise women across the peninsular in all walks of life from women in health to women in sport, combatting violence against women and girls to green business of the year and more. This year there were more than 1500 nominations of women across Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset in 16 award categories.

Good luck to Morven, everything crossed she continues the winning streak on from the success of her line manager Emma Hewitt, Skills Lead at Plymouth City Council who won the West Country Women Inspirational Leader Award 2022, in part for her leadership of Building Plymouth.
