SDS is a forward-looking, dynamic construction consultancy specialising in the design of mechanical and electrical engineering systems for buildings. The business has grown rapidly, since our formation in 2004, now with over 60 staff at our offices in Plymouth, Exeter and Bristol.

We design innovative, flexible, energy-efficient functional solutions for hospitals, schools, universities, public buildings, commercial and industrial projects creating exceptional environments for living, work or leisure, delivered to budget and programme.

The business has grown each year through developing our expertise, investing in our staff, being at the forefront of technology and building a strong client base and reputation.

Our growing presence in the construction industry is recognised by our inclusion in Building Magazine’s UK’s top 150 professional construction consultants.

Why we are supporting Building Plymouth?

We are proud of be a member the Plymouth Construction industry and in our very active role contributing to the local community.

A specific focus for SDS is forging partnerships with local education providers and supporting the fantastic Building Plymouth initiatives. In 2019, our staff contributed 500 hours to pupil work experience, student placements and working in schools and universities.

Positioning construction as a career of choice by showcasing the application of STEM skills is a vital part of building our future workforce, creating employment opportunities and bolstering the South West economy.
