James Blake

After initially joining the Skills Launchpad Plymouth team as Community Lead Coordinator in 2021, James was appointed as Construction Coordinator for the construction and built environment sector skills partnership, Building Plymouth, in June 2023. 

As Construction Coordinator, James works in city-wide partnership with construction firms, sub-contractors and training providers to provide employment opportunities for the people of Plymouth and help close skills gaps for employers. Working with key groups such as veterans and those with experience of the criminal justice system, James is keen to promote accessible opportunities for everyone and maintains strong relationships with organisations and groups across Plymouth.

As a previous teacher, and through time working with young people in the charity sector, James brings a range of experience to the team and he has a great track record in supporting people to overcome barriers and help them move into employment and training.
