Certifications and Skills

Training courses and certifications for the construction industry are available in lots of areas.

If you want to show that you are skilled in a certain occupation in construction, then card schemes prove that you have the right skills and training. The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) is the most well-known of these, but others are available. Certifications enable those in the industry to advance their career prospects while helping their industry develop and grow.

City College Plymouth have teamed up with Kier Construction to offer a 5 week training programme with a CSCS card at the end. To find out more click here

Alongside City College Plymouth and South Devon College, the Sherford Consortium offers onsite training, work experience and long-term employment opportunities through its Skills Training Scheme. You can find out more and apply to join here

Skills Bootcamps offer free, flexible courses of up to 16 weeks. You’ll be offered a job interview with an employer once you complete the course.
