Construction industry focus on day 1 of Skills Launchpad Plymouth event

Skills Launchpad Plymouth, the city’s one-stop-shop for skills, training, education, careers and jobs is hosting a four day job and skills event which is being held at Place De Brest outside Barclays in the city centre.

Construction industry to be the focus on day one

This inaugural four day job and skills event is being held from Wednesday 7th until Saturday 10th July from 10am until 2pm each day and will support education leavers, job seekers, those on furlough and those looking for a change of career direction. Local people can drop by to find out about current opportunities, gain industry insight, access independent advice and guidance on the next steps to take for jobs, apprenticeships, Kickstarts, training and education.

The core Skills Launchpad Plymouth team will be joined by representatives from the local Construction industry on Wednesday 7th July along with Jobcentre Plus to chat with attendees and discuss various roles, current job opportunities, training and skills requirements, sign-posting and career paths available.

The event will also cover other key Plymouth industries

The focus will be on Health and Care on Thursday 8th, Hospitality and Retail on Friday 9th and on Saturday 10th there will be an Adult Education Day during which there will be people from OCSW (On Course South West) and DWP (Department for Work and Pensions) to give information and guidance.

There is no requirement to pre-register to attend the Skills Launchpad Plymouth event – the team looks forward to seeing you!
