Cormac
Cormac is a southwest regional business of scale, employing approximately 1,200 people and generating an annual turnover in excess of £150 million. Our strength lies in our people, whose skills, expertise, and training underpin our ability to deliver high-quality services across the built and natural environment. We offer fully integrated turnkey solutions or discrete project elements tailored to client needs.
Focus on People and Training
Our workforce is highly skilled and continually developed through structured training and professional development programmes. We are committed to supporting employment and skills development within the local region, providing opportunities for local people to build careers in civil engineering, construction, consultancy, and environmental services. This is supported by our dedicated Training Centre at Notter Bridge, which delivers practical, hands-on training across multiple disciplines. Key personnel hold NEC PM accreditations, and our leadership team actively mentors and supports staff, ensuring that our teams remain at the forefront of industry standards, safety, and innovation while strengthening the local workforce.
Regional Capability and Local Involvement
Cormac has a strong presence across the southwest, with depots in Exeter, Plymouth, and Barnstaple, supported by corporate offices in Exeter, Bodmin, and Redruth. We maintain deep and ongoing engagement across the Plymouth region, actively supporting and delivering a wide range of local infrastructure and development projects. This regional focus reflects our long-term commitment to supporting economic growth, resilient infrastructure, and sustainable development throughout Plymouth and the surrounding area.
Business Segments and Delivery Models
Our operations are structured across four key segments:
• Regional Civil Engineering Contracting
• Construction & Property
• Multi-disciplinary Consultancy, engineering, consulting, and advisory services
• Highway & Environmental Term Services
We deliver projects through flexible models, including self-delivery using directly employed staff, blended delivery, and management contracting for larger contracts. We advocate Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), working collaboratively with clients and designers to optimise buildability, manage risk, and provide programme and cost certainty.
Key Resources and Expertise
Our internal resources allow us to provide a full range of services:
• Multi-disciplinary Consultancy: Engineering, technical, and advisory services including geotechnical, ground investigation, geospatial (drone surveys), utilities, structural, environmental & water, marine & flood, and highways & transport consultancy (approx. 120 FTE)
