KierBAM at Devonport

Appointed by Babcock, our work at HMNB Devonport is made possible by a joint venture between Kier and BAM to form the KBJV Team. KBJV has been competitively awarded the NEC4 framework contract for the main works civils scope on the 10 Dock Project. The project includes the redevelopment of a dry dock for nuclear submarines alongside the demolition of existing buildings and construction of new ones to support the Royal Navy’s submarine maintenance programme.

The Kier BAM Joint Venture has a long history, with the two organisations having first worked together in 1936. The partnership was formed to leverage the combined skills and resources of both parent companies; the culture, values and personal behaviours being completely aligned between the parties.

Since 2020, Kier BAM has been integral to the successful 10 Dock pre-design contract stage, whilst completing projects on 12 Dock, 14 Dock and 15 Dock

KierBAM has delivered many packages of work at Hinkley Point C, including the Earthworks and Main Civils Framework. KBJV were the first JV to complete a Crossrail project at Farringdon on time and are delivering the HS2 Phase 1 Main Works. Prior to this, the JV delivered HS1 and six other contracts on Crossrail, including Western Running Tunnels.
